Maruti Suzuki is expected to unveil the updated 2026 Brezza in India on July 23, 2026, giving one of the country’s best-selling compact SUVs its biggest update since the current generation debuted in 2022. While the overall design is expected to remain familiar, the facelift is likely to introduce new powertrain options, upgraded technology, and practical improvements aimed at keeping the Brezza competitive in the crowded sub-4 metre SUV segment.
What’s New?
Although Maruti Suzuki has not officially revealed the complete specifications, reports and test mule sightings suggest the facelift could include:
- New 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine (expected)
- Existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine likely to continue
- New 6-speed manual transmission
- New 6-speed automatic gearbox replacing the current automatic
- Larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Ventilated front seats
- New alloy wheel design
- Updated front bumper and grille
- Redesigned LED lighting elements
- Underbody-mounted factory CNG cylinder
- Possible ADAS features on higher variants (not yet confirmed)
Exterior Changes
Spy shots indicate that the facelift will retain the Brezza’s overall silhouette while introducing a refreshed front panel. The SUV is expected to receive a redesigned grille, updated bumpers, revised LED lighting signatures and new alloy wheels. New exterior colour options could also be introduced.
The changes appear evolutionary rather than revolutionary, helping the Brezza maintain its familiar identity while giving it a more modern appearance.
Interior and Feature Updates
Inside the cabin, the biggest upgrade is expected to be a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the current 9-inch unit.
Reports also suggest:
- refreshed dashboard trim
- updated upholstery
- ventilated front seats
- software improvements for the infotainment system
Some test vehicles have also been spotted with radar equipment, leading to speculation that select variants could receive ADAS features. However, Maruti Suzuki has not confirmed this yet.
Engine and Transmission
One of the most talked-about updates is the possible return of Maruti Suzuki’s 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine.
If introduced, it would provide buyers with a more performance-oriented option alongside the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is expected to continue for customers prioritising fuel efficiency and lower running costs.
Transmission options are also expected to improve, with reports pointing towards:
- new 6-speed manual gearbox
- new 6-speed automatic transmission
These upgrades could improve highway cruising comfort and overall driving refinement compared to the outgoing model.
CNG Variant Gets a Practical Upgrade
Perhaps the most practical change is expected in the factory-fitted CNG variant.
Instead of occupying a large portion of the boot, the CNG cylinder is likely to be relocated beneath the luggage compartment.
If this change makes production, buyers would benefit from significantly better boot space while retaining the lower running costs of CNG – an improvement many existing Brezza CNG owners have been waiting for.
Expected Price and Launch Timeline
The updated Brezza is expected to make its official debut on July 23, 2026.
Pricing has not been announced, although reports suggest a modest premium over the outgoing model because of the additional features and mechanical upgrades. Official prices are expected to be revealed at launch.
