JSW MG Motor India has launched the new Hector Tomahawk in India with both electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The seven-seat SUV is the first model based on MG’s new ADAPT platform and brings a claimed 517 km range in its EV version and more than 1,100 km of combined range in the PHEV.
The Hector Tomahawk marks a significant expansion of JSW MG Motor India’s new-energy vehicle portfolio. The company has positioned the SUV as a multi-energy product, offering buyers a choice between a fully electric powertrain and a plug-in hybrid setup.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV price in India
The Hector Tomahawk EV is priced between ₹19.49 lakh and ₹23.49 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant and seating configuration.
MG is also offering the electric SUV under its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model. Under this scheme, the starting price drops to ₹13.99 lakh, excluding the battery rental cost of ₹4.90 per km.
The EV is available in three main trims – Excite, Exclusive and Essence. The SUV is offered in both five- and seven-seat configurations, although the five-seat layout is limited to the Essence variant.

The introductory BaaS prices range from ₹13.99 lakh to ₹17.49 lakh, with a battery rental charge of ₹4.90 per km.
Hector Tomahawk EV range and battery
The electric version gets a 69.2kWh LFP battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor. The motor produces 204hp and 310Nm.
MG claims a 517km MIDC range on a full charge, while the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 8.2 seconds.
The Tomahawk EV supports up to 90kW DC fast charging. MG claims that the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in approximately 35 minutes using a compatible DC fast charger.
One of the biggest highlights is its Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capability. The system allows the vehicle’s battery to supply power to a compatible home during an outage, going beyond the Vehicle-to-Load functionality offered by many EVs.
MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV: Over 1,100km claimed range
Alongside the EV, JSW MG Motor India has introduced the Hector Tomahawk PHEV, making it the country’s first mass-market plug-in hybrid vehicle.
The PHEV combines a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 20.5kWh battery and an electric motor. The petrol engine produces 102hp and 125Nm, while the electric motor develops 201hp and 237Nm.
MG claims the PHEV can travel more than 115km in pure-electric mode. With a full fuel tank and a fully charged battery, the SUV has a claimed combined range of more than 1,100km.
The company also claims a combined fuel efficiency figure of more than 40kmpl.
The PHEV is offered exclusively with a seven-seat configuration.
MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV price
The Hector Tomahawk PHEV is available in two variants. Prices start at ₹25.70 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Exclusive 7S and go up to ₹27.80 lakh for the Essence 7S.
Like the EV, the PHEV is also available with MG’s BaaS programme. Prices under BaaS start at ₹21.79 lakh, with a battery rental charge of ₹3.20 per km.

Hector Tomahawk features and technology
The Hector Tomahawk gets a technology-focused cabin with a large 15.6-inch infotainment display, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display and a 10-speaker Infinity audio system.
Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, powered tailgate, connected-car technology and a 360-degree camera.
Safety equipment includes six airbags and Level-2 ADAS, with features such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and traffic-jam assist.
Built on MG’s new ADAPT platform
The Hector Tomahawk is the first MG model in India to use the company’s ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology).
MG describes ADAPT as a multi-new-energy platform designed to accommodate different powertrain technologies, including EV, PHEV, hybrid and range-extender configurations.
This approach allows MG to offer different electrified powertrains on the same vehicle architecture rather than restricting buyers to a single type of powertrain.
Bookings and deliveries
Bookings for the Hector Tomahawk are now open. EV deliveries are scheduled to begin from September 2026, while PHEV deliveries are expected to begin in November 2026. MG says EV display vehicles will reach dealerships from September, with PHEV display vehicles arriving from November.
